The Opava-based company OSTROJ closed the year 2024 with revenues of CZK 1.4 billion, marking a year-on-year increase of more than 12%. For the first time in several years, OSTROJ also returned to profitability. This success was driven by strong demand for equipment used in underground construction, automated industrial lines, components and systems for power generation, and an increase in the production of forgings for the automotive industry. A key role was also played by acquiring new projects from both existing and new customers.

In 2024, OSTROJ generated revenues of CZK 1.4 billion, which represents a year-on-year increase of over CZK 150 million. This growth was also reflected in the company's financial results. Compared to previous years, OSTROJ achieved a pre-tax profit of CZK 8.25 million.

Aleš Martínek, CEO of OSTROJ, commented: "In 2024, we faced external pressures such as high electricity and natural gas prices, and a decline in demand from key customers in the Western European engineering sector. Despite that, we significantly improved our economic indicators compared to previous years. Our main focus was on stabilizing the company financially, securing new projects—especially from new clients—and expanding our production portfolio with proprietary products."

The Mining and Industrial Technologies division performed particularly well, significantly increasing its share of total revenue thanks to new orders in underground construction and automated industrial lines. For example, the division delivered mobile formwork systems for the construction of the Prague Metro Line D to HOCHTIEF CZ and STRABAG, and also supplied formwork for a cut-and-cover motorway tunnel in Norway for SKANSKA. It also began deliveries of spare parts for mining machines to the United States.

"In 2024, we also launched the development of new equipment types, such as a modular biomass crusher and chip conveyors," added Martin Čmiel, director of Sales and Marketing at OSTROJ.

The Forge and Hardening division also saw significant growth, launching serial production of new forgings and increasing output volume by 30% year-on-year.

Key contracts in 2024 included the production of an automated conveyor system for Model Obaly and the launch of serial production of airport ground support equipment for Oshkosh AeroTech. OSTROJ also expanded its production of special generator frames for the German company Innomotics.

"We will continue to invest in new technologies, improving energy efficiency, and developing our employees. Going forward, we aim to strengthen our position in mining equipment, underground construction systems, and automated industrial lines, while further expanding our portfolio of forgings," concluded Aleš Martínek.
