OSTROJ, a prominent engineering manufacturer based in Opava, is investing over CZK 150 million in a new, partially robotized LZK 4000 forging line. This investment will lead to increased productivity, optimized production processes, and expanded capacities in the Forging and Hardening division. In connection with this, the company plans to recruit new employees, primarily for the positions of forger, inspector, and operational inspector.

OSTROJ, a prominent engineering manufacturer based in Opava, is investing over CZK 150 million in a new, partially robotized LZK 4000 forging line. This investment will lead to increased productivity, optimized production processes, and expanded capacities in the Forge and Heat Treatment division. In connection with this, the company plans to recruit new employees, primarily for the positions of forger, inspector, and operational inspector.

The new forging line will be equipped with three robots that will handle material from loading the prepared material into the heater, through placing the heated blanks into the rolling mill and subsequently into the first operation in the forging press, to die lubrication in the forging press. The line is designed with the possibility of full robotization, which will allow the addition of more robots in the future to operate the forging and trimming presses.

"The investment in the new forging line is crucial for our growth strategy and ensuring market competitiveness. Automation will help us not only increase production efficiency and work safety but also better adapt production processes to our customers' requirements," says Jan Kubesa, Director of Purchasing and Services at OSTROJ.

The OSTROJ forge produces, for example, parts for towing devices for model series such as the Škoda Superb, Škoda Kodiaq, VW Passat, or Mercedes GLA.

Strengthening the Team of Experts

In connection with the expansion of production, OSTROJ is recruiting new employees, particularly for the Forge and Heat Treatment division. Currently, thirteen job positions are open, eight of which are in this division. The company is looking for experienced professionals and candidates without experience who are eager to learn and develop their skills.

Investment in Modernization and Energy Savings

In addition to the new forging line, OSTROJ is also focusing on other projects that aim to support the modernization of production technologies and achieve energy savings. Among the most significant are the replacement of compressors with more energy-efficient models and the planned modernization of transformer stations.

"We are also working on a project to connect our facilities to a new rainwater drainage system so that we can return rainwater directly to the Opava River instead of burdening the local wastewater treatment plant," adds Jan Kubesa.

Despite high energy prices, which will be a challenge throughout the year, OSTROJ believes that these investments will contribute to the long-term stability and sustainability of the company's operations.
